The Universe Story
Sr Colette Kane is a Dominican sister and is Programme Director of An Tairseach (The Threshold), an organic farm and ecology Centre in County Wicklow Ireland. Colette’s studies and work have been at the intersection of ecology theology and spirituality. She is also a musician, teacher, workshop and retreat leader who weaves humour, music, love of creation and her studies in every facet of her life and work.
What makes a Leader a Contemplative Leader
Patrick Boland, author of The Contemplative Leader, is an executive coach, leadership consultant and psychotherapist. Since founding CONEXUS in 2013, Patrick has worked with senior teams and leaders in global organisations including Google, Unilever, Lego, Accenture, and Salesforce. He also consults and writes with Richard Rohr at the Centre for Action and Contemplation in New Mexico. He lives in Greystones Co Wicklow with his wife Jess and child.
The Place of Pain in Psychotherapy and Spiritual Direction
Dr Tony Bates, author of Breaking the Heart Open, is a clinical Psychologist and adjunct professor of psychology at University College Dublin. He was head of the department of psychology for 30 years at St James’ Hospital Dublin. Following psychotherapy training at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Oxford, he established the MSc course in Cognitive Psychotherapy at Trinity College in Dublin. In 2006 he created Jigsaw, the National service for Youth Mental health. He trained as a Mindfulness teacher at the University of North Wales, Bangor (2001) and is patron of the Mindfulness Teachers association of Ireland. Tony lives on North Sligo where he writes, consults and looks after a large garden with hens, giant Flemish rabbits, cats and wild birds. He is married to Ursula and is a father of three and grandfather of five. Both Tony and Ursula completed the Anamcharadas course in 1984.
Opening the Heart Through Music
Roisin O’Reilly, a native of Cavan, after attending and performing with the Conservatory of Music (DIT) for 8 years, then toured and recorded with the renowned Celtic choral group, Anuna, for several years. She has performed worldwide including at Carnegie Hall, New York and Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Moscow and many times in our National Concert Hall; recently singing “Hush be Still”, A Christmas Lullaby (Brendan Graham/Roisin OReilly), for RTE Christmas Miscellany on Christmas Day. With her family nearly reared, she plans to take on tour a show co-created with Brendan Graham called the “Listening Heart”. She is a graduate of Anamcharadas training in 2023.
We will be opening the event up to friends of Anamcharadas. However, places are limited and we would like to prioritize Anamchairde. We would ask you NOT to forward the email or link until after 10th February, to allow Anamchairde to sign-up first.
